There’s an urban myth that when it comes to painting Australia’s Sydney Harbour Bridge once you start you never stop. While that’s not completely true, painting does conform to a schedule. That’s how you stop the rust and rot. And it’s a simile only now being thrust on the world in the vaccine fight against Covid-19.

The cocks crowed in Canberra greeting the dawn that crisp Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Here a federal government lay caught in a crisis of alleged rapes and misogyny its feather ruffling sweeping attention away from what should otherwise have been its prime concern: the nation’s existential fight against Covid-19.

It’s over. Around 3am Australian Eastern Standard Time on Friday, February 26th, 2021, Facebook allowed Australians to read and share news links on its platform once again.
Now Facebook’s crossed the line. That kid called Zuckerberg who pissed off America’s rich by becoming an overnight billionaire with a product that does nothing—thereby fomenting their greed that became the Global Financial Crisis—has blocked my little website from posting to my Facebook Wall in Australia. After four years of a Trump presidency that I originally cheered, I look around and see utter devastation. For the forensic archaeologist the bones of truth are now laid bare and their lessons must be written. I promise to do that because societal progress only comes not by those who believe in magical change, but those who can see what went wrong and seek to ensure it will never happen again. © 2021 Adam Parker. Two weeks after a seditious insurrection, flags stand before the US Capitol representing Americans blocked from attendance at the Biden-Harris Inauguration in their National Mall by security concerns and a Covid-19 pandemic that today took its 400,000th American life.

Following yesterday’s historic move by the US House of Representatives seeking Vice President Mike Pence’s invocation of Section 4 of the US Constitution’s 25th Amendment declaring President Donald Trump unfit for office, Pence declined to follow through citing instead, a lack of a “constitutional basis” for such a unique call.
