The claim has been made that talk host Jimmy Kimmel’s sacking from his late night slot by ABC is the end of media freedom. Yet, it is not related to his on-air behaviour. Rather it is the culmination of a media corruption that has reigned for two years since the aftermath of Hamas’s attack on Israel in 2023.
