Today Zohran Mamdani Took New York to its Downfall and I Was Asked to Explain Why

Someone challenged me this afternoon to explain why Ugandan-born socialist Zohran Mamdani, who had just become the first Muslim mayor-elect of New York City, was a bad guy. I provided my response, and my querent fobbed it off saying that he disagreed with nearly all of it but offered no counter-argument at all. That’s fine. There’s a truth that’s been handed down through the generations about people: never argue with someone who buys ink by the barrel. Social media is an endless barrel of pixels. That also brings another truth: you can’t win the internet. But I did make him think and here’s my reply.

Preamble
But first, here’s a brief bio of Mr. Mamdani that is helpful.
Zohran Mamdani was indeed born in Uganda. He gained his US citizenship at age eight in 1999. In 2011 he established the first Student Justice for Palestine chapter of Bowdoin College in Maine while getting his bachelors in Black Studies.
SJP has been banned or suspended at many US colleges. It describes itself as “anti-Zionist” but says it doesn’t hate Jews for their religion: just those Jews who believe their heritage is Israel. That defines nearly all of them precisely due to their religion. Yet, Mamdani has never criticised it. Mamdani is therefore an antisemite as there’s no such thing as an anti-Zionist, you see, but not just by this association alone as we’ll soon learn.
Zohran Mamdani is now mayor-elect of the largest Jewish city in the world outside Israel. And it’s not by accident.
The reply
Here’s what I wrote to my querent asking why I thought that both London and now New York had fallen from their once lofty places of leadership in Western values. What follows is verbatim so no quote marks are needed.
Let me try this out taking questions out of order applying my numbering for future ref:
1. Extremist Islam or Islamist Extremism is what the KKK is to Christianity. (There is no similarity in Judaism as both seek the death of non-believers, and Jews do not proselytise.) It is this that differentiates Islamism from Islam. Another definition is that extreme Islam is Sharia Islam. [My querent had asked if Islam was bad.]
2. What then is jihad, and why do we need to worry about it? Jihad is a Sharia construct. The best example we’ve seen published is in the full text of Hamas’s founding Covenant. “Hamas” btw is the marketing name of the Muslim Brotherhood who founded it when taking up its presence in Gaza in 1987. The Brotherhood’s Charter is online too. Note the mention of “jihad” together with the death of Jews. After 9/11 the Brotherhood re-wrote Hamas’s charter for popular acceptance. It replaced the word Jews with Zionists. https://avalon.law.yale.edu/21st_century/hamas.asp [My querent had asked why I thought that Mamdani was radical.]
3. London’s mayor is Sadiq Khan. He runs the Met or London Metro Police. Under his leadership two-tier policing has been evident on London’s streets as part of a wider trend in the UK nationally. This means that Muslim offenders and those calling for jihad are rarely arrested or imprisoned while those supporting the rights of non-Muslims are. You can therefore thrust Korans into people’s hands in Piccadilly but can’t call for Christ’s love or wear a kippah. Numerous articles can be found discussing London’s law & order problem. Witness its practice in the UK elsewhere such as at Aston Villa tomorrow. For now, try here from the BBC whose leadership today has admitted to “pro-Hamas bias”, legal consequences to come. Robin Simcox quoted by the BBC is the UK Home Office’s “Commissioner for Countering Extremism”. New York now promises a similar anti-police trajectory. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-68508351 [My querent asked why I’d brought up London in the context of a future New York.]
4. As for the comparison between London and New York now also having pro-jihadist leanings, we can confirm that very danger in Australia’s Smart Traveller UK listing that warns tourists against a “Substantial terror threat” from “Extremist Islam and extreme right wing ideology”. Right wing has traditionally meant Neo-Nazis or Ultra Nationalists, but it is by no coincidence now becoming a descriptor for jihadism too.
5. Mamdani has been caught lying numerously during his campaign. Notoriously claiming that his “aunty” was the immediate victim of 9/11 for the Islamophobia thrown at her by New Yorkers seeing her in a hijab on the subway. The media checked. His aunty was not in the US at the time. He corrected himself by saying it really was his “cousin”. Numerous leads can be found attesting to his Islamist sympathy for 7/10/23 and 9/11/01. He has been seen with numerous Brotherhood members; he supports the BDS movement run by multimillionaire Omar Barghouti; and is funded by CAIR which is the business-face of what we’d call the Islamic KKK. CAIR has not yet been declared a terror organisation by the FBI but is close due to ties with ISIS, Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood and Iran. Things get murky re ISIS but the forthcoming visit next week to the White House by the new formerly AQ/ISIS Syrian regime didn’t come out of the blue. [My querent asked the reason why I didn’t trust Mamdani.]
6. For ties with China and TikTok, see recent articles such as this from NY Post. China is a meddler in international affairs and its TikTok only remains in the US due to its recent transfer of local operations to US ownership. https://nypost.com/2025/10/22/business/tiktok-boosting-pro-mamdani-content-suppressing-pro-cuomo-clips-ahead-of-nyc-mayoral-election-report/ [My querent asked why I’d mentioned TikTok in the context of Mamdani’s campaign.]
7. The claim that New Yorkers have forgotten 9/11 comes from Mamdani’s Islamist extremism and his al Qaeda sympathies for the group central to that terror act. This is also why it’s relevant to make sure of the core Jewish contribution to the US and New York. Its contemporary values are heavily influenced by Judaism while the Brotherhood’s PR seeks to erase it. [My querent had asked why I’d mentioned that a Jew named Milton Glaser had designed the famous “I Heart New York” logo and another named Irving Berlin had written the US’s unofficial anthem “God Bless America”.]
8. Is Mamdani despicable? The web never forgets, and past statements on both video and in print are across social and recent media. Hitler hosted the 1936 Berlin Olympics hiding the city’s antisemitism from global eyes until the games had ended. Hitler had social support by movements in both the US and UK. Hitler was courted by UK PM Chamberlain at Munich. Hence history repeats. Mamdani is the personification of Qatar, Iran, and Islamist Extremism on 42d Street. We are now beginning to realise that there is no difference between Communism and Neo-Nazism in their racial policies and extremes. Guess what? In 1933 there weren’t either. The USSR helped set up and train the Concentration Camp system that started with Dachau and progressed into infamy. The motto “Arbeit Mach Frei” was first written in Russian in the Soviet Gulags. The killing pits of the Einsatzgruppen were the invention of the Soviets too. Evil is evil despite outward appearances professing otherwise. [My querent ultimately wanted to know why I disliked Madani.]
A lost generation unable to ask the questions you have just done, analyse the answers received and then seek verification on your own has been the cause of the West’s demise since 2010 and the start of the Arab Spring.
We all had hopes back then even though Hamas was firing rockets into Israel at the time. Jews, Christians and Muslims thought that secular peace could come across the Arab World: that the Global War on Terror could end.
Instead the popular uprising in Egypt by young Millennials that overthrew the corrupt government of Mubarek didn’t last long. Do you remember who took over? Morsi, of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood infiltrated a peace movement and it sought jihad instead.
So yes, in Mamdani is the Muslim Brotherhood. He’s a bad actor literally and metaphorically. He’s also not the mayor of New York. A Brotherhood proxy will take that role behind the scenes as they’ve done in Qatar, Yemen, Lebanon, Sudan and London.
The reason why there has never been a Palestine since 1967 (having forgone it in 1947) is what we’ve recently seen in Gaza called “Pallywood”.
The claim of Palestine since the onset of the PLO led by Arafat has been a litany of lies and antisemitism. Were there any truths to genocide and famine in Gaza since 2023, Hamas would not need to manufacture videos, and mainstream media would not need to apologise for false reporting starting with al-Ahli hospital, nor would Hamas need to stage hideous hostage releases nor hide corpses, send wrong bodies to Israel, or run the narrative that rape and infanticide never occurred on 7/10.
This is all quite tiring but very welcoming to list. If Mamdani was genuinely for New York, why lie? It’s because he’s heavily invested in the Muslim Brotherhood and its cause, and therefore can’t stand on his own.
Time will soon bear witness.
