On Saturday May 3 2025 Australians will go to the polls. It’s mandatory to vote in Australia and those who haven’t yet cast their ballots early or by post, will find an unprecedented federal election of hype, lies and worry.

Hype from a media that’s utterly failed to string policy narratives together so that only today, was socialist Labor allowed to announce new taxes on unrealised asset gains.
Lies from a media unable to correctly cost conservative Liberal nuclear power, versus the environmental loss being caused by deforestation and the repurposing of farmland by Labor’s wind myopia. Unable to warn voters of the risk of spent fuel rods, yet, also unable to justify the costs to Australia of its prematurely decommissioned electrical generation capacity.
And worry from a media unwilling to admit the horrors of Islamist extremism overseas, and its impact on Australia as Labor opens its borders to unvetted Gazans who hail from Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah governances. Unwilling to ask why the perpetrators of synagogue arson have not yet been arrested. Unwilling to ask why Australians of Jewish heritage feel, since 2023, unsafe in the Lucky Country. Unwilling to ask why Labor has also vowed today, to increase funding for a discredited UNRWA while The Greens champion tomorrow as an election not for Australia but “for Palestine”.
So, to sum it up, the scare tactics are these:
Labor warns that without it, Medicare and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme will be gutted.
The Liberal National Coalition warns that without it, costs of living will soar under Labor’s failed energy policies, and that hard earned savings and equity will be taxed in superannuation and private homes without cashing them in.
Labor warns that the Liberals have made a preference deal with a racist far right One Nation that abhors Islamist extremism.
LNP warns that Labor first lied and made a preference deal with the far left Greens who are openly antisemitic, anarchistic and who put the rights of Australians last.
Last election, I voted Labor resulting in Anthony Albanese becoming prime minister because of his explicit promise to fix Covid-19—a pandemic that the LNP had left in a mess economically and in health. He lied. Today Australia still doesn’t have access to Novavax vaccines available worldwide.
So, this year, I will vote LNP because opposition leader Peter Dutton is promising to reduce the burdens of tax, electricity, gas and costs of living on everyday Australians.
When Labor says it will pay off student debt it means that other Australians will foot that bill.
When Labor wishes to support Islamist extremism (and terror via UNRWA), it means that Australians will miss out on peace and the opportunity to heal here.
It’s as simple as that. Who can you genuinely trust? No one these days.
But the media should have made it easier for Australians to understand the risks and crises pending that voting incorrectly will bring. I’m simply voting for what suits both my needs and those of the wider pluralistic Australian community that once had, and still dreams of, a fair go.
