As a Gen Xer I’ve never seen a presidency whose second term came after a break nor one re-elected after a refusal to accept a loss.

Yet in Trump 2.0 I have also never known a presidency more better timed to end an epoch in world history where far left lunacy has endangered the notion of citizenship across the West while letting imported terror reign.

As I wrote only recently, and since the 2020 election, I never forecast the probability of a Trump resurrection. Yet his rising today to take the oath of office again, is testament to how far from fairness, decency and the freedom from fear inept far left politicians have taken the world in just four years for their own political narcissism—to the disgust of mainstream values voters.

This far left agenda has only diminished racial equality and exploded misogyny. It has endangered Judaeo-Christianity and the values of secular enlightenment, it has unleashed Islamist extremism and abuse, and it has corrupted institutions once dedicated to uplifting education and humanity.

Indeed, right wing extremism offers no fairer a world but as the Trump electorate shows, a broad spectrum of left and right voters have had enough of “woke”—a term I’ve never used till now.

The governments of Australia, Canada and UK are on particular notice: Tighten the rights of citizenship, stop opening borders to Islamic terror cadres, and return innovation to the economy. Nonetheless, not a single one of these far left fad governments will now be retuned in Trump’s shadow.

And then as I write, tonight Elon Musk took the Trump inaugural celebration stage at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC, and gave a Hitler-style salute: No, that had to be a Roman salute of course, thump to chest, arm held high, Giorgia Meloni in his dreams.

And then Israel’s hostages freed from Hamas terror tunnels in Gaza, and other Israeli hostage families took the same stage.

And then President Trump joined them and gave an inaugural address as they stood behind him.

This early imagery from the new Trump administration is purposeful and clear:

If you support Islamist terror or your government is on the far left—your world is about to shake. We just hope that this seismic politics won’t come with any unintended aftershocks.
